New, new, new! New administration, new lockers, new rooms, and new classes are here, all at once.
Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year, which has started off with a lot of humidity (and with many complaints regarding the state-wide phone ban).
Beginning in early May of last Spring, the band wing and the auditorium were torn apart. This construction was expedited once all of the high school windows were replaced. Multiple other building projects started over the Summer, too, so let’s dive into them.
First, the science wing is currently being gutted and renovated with Mr. Roegiers and Mrs. Chrzan both getting brand new rooms with updated and modern layouts. When asked when the new rooms will be up and running, Mr. Roegiers said “probably during the second semester”. After these well-needed changes are completed, hopefully the horrendous humidity will be offset by the new air conditioning unit.
Next, the band wing is seeing substantial updates. Specifically, Mr. Sullivan’s and Mrs. Cipriani’s offices are being moved within the new layout. There is also a new ramp that is already installed leading into the band room.
The auditorium’s (soon to be named Performing Arts Center) design includes air conditioning, new theater seats, new ceilings, new lights, and new sound panels. There will also be a new sound and projector system installed, which is the same one that Ohio State University utilizes. The Performing Arts Center will officially be completed by March 1; however, Dr. Caleris is hosting an open house for the public to walk through and see the finished product on March 20.
Finally, upcoming projects will include the building being repainted, the floors getting redone, a new elevator, and they will be completely redoing the front entrance.
These renovations are sure to make the building more appealing to the eyes, both inside and out. Thank you, Dr. Caleris!
