Contenders?

Are the Cleveland Browns destined for their first ever Super Bowl appearance? It sounds crazy, doesn’t it?

Last year, nobody would have seen this coming by the way the Browns played. They ended the season with a 5-12 record, cellar dwellers in the AFC North.

Fast forward to the present under the guidance of new head coach Todd Monken, the Browns have been promising and stand atop the AFC North with a 5-2 record. This is something Cleveland has not seen since their seven-game opening stretch in 2020. This is because of their newly-acquired leadership and off-season acquisitions.

Rookies Spencer Fano (OT), KC Concepcion (WR), Denzel Boston (WR), Emmanuel McNeil-Warren (S), and Austin Barber (RG) have all made a notable impact on the team’s success.

The duel threat of Concepcion and Boston have shown that experience is overrated. The two receivers have carried the Browns offense this year, both with over 300 yards each, topping the majority of the rookie wide receivers in the NFL.

The Ute from Utah, Spencer Fano, has also made sensational strides on the offensive line with 444 snaps on the gridiron and only one sack allowed. Similarly on the other side of the center, Austin Barber has also allowed only one sack with the same amount of snaps as Fano. These two rookie linemen are proving to be key pieces of this offense, and hopefully, the offensive line can continue progressing to lead these Brownies to the playoffs.

On the other side of the ball, Emmanuel McNeil-Warren has improved the secondary, only allowing two completions on 10 targets in his direction, along with compiling 14 solo tackles and 13 assisted tackles. McNeil-Warren is quickly-bettering the Browns with each snap. The defense, overall, has driven the Browns to this point.

General Manager Andrew Berry has put together two straight, solid drafts with these young players being key contributors to this season’s start.

Can these battle-tested Browns beat the Steelers on the road this Sunday? Better yet, can they make the Super Bowl?

Only time will tell as they still have 10 games remaining to decide their future.

Go Browns!
