Cleveland is considered to be the hidden gem of The United States with Progressive Field, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the Metroparks Zoo, the wide variety of authentic restaurants, and much more. But, how many locals and tourists know about the aquarium?

Do you want to see wildlife but do not want to travel a far distance? The Greater Cleveland Aquarium is where it begins, located only 20 minutes away from Brooklyn.

To view sea life in Northeast Ohio is both fun and educational, and the aquarium offers so many different events to participate in. Here are three of these events.

*Stingray Art Morning: This event is every Sunday morning starting on March 1 from 8:30-10:00. During this time, you can ask questions about the stingrays, learn about them, and take a piece of artwork home after the session.

*Passholder Back-of-House Sneak Peek: Every Friday, starting on March 13, you will be given the opportunity to see what happens “behind the scenes”. Learning about what the staff does to keep the animals safe and healthy can be informative regarding ecosystems, time, and compromises made to take care of the many differing species housed in the aquarium.

*Oases of Life: Seamounts and Deep-Sea Corals: This event teaches about the geological and physical attributes of environments created in the water. Patrons will be given studies and investigations on such topics, an opportunity to discuss findings and implementation into classrooms, and free online education to pass on to the students. This is great for educators.

After swimming at Edgewater Beach, come on out to the Greater Cleveland Aquarium to see what lurks in the aquarium’s water.

Learn, mingle, and enjoy!
