The bowling team has been lighting it up this season, and it is only right to show them some love by providing a rundown of their season to this point. They currently own a record of 8-1 and have had top ten finishes in multiple tournaments.

This season, they have wins against Holy Name, Cuyahoga Heights, Benedictine, Padua, Elyria Catholic, St. Edward, and Lakewood. Some of these wins were lopsided, such as Lakewood last Saturday by 612 pins. Even more impressive was their victory against Benedictine last month with a pin differential of 832.

But, they have had some intense finishes, too, specifically when they beat the defending state champion Padua Bruins by one singular pin.

The two highest pin averages are the Cowper brothers with freshman Alex averaging 204 and senior Adam averaging 202. Other major contributors include sophomore Harley Zibrin with 170, senior Ryan Hilcu with 164, and senior Amara Zibrin with 161.

These bowlers are on the rise, and we are excited to see what they can continue to accomplish, especially in the upcoming playoffs. Additionally, the Sports Department would like to wish Adam Cowper the best of luck in the future as he attends Indiana Tech in the Fall of 2026.

Good luck in the postseason, bowlers!

In other Winter sports, last Saturday, the boys basketball team won an overtime thriller against Medina Christian, 70-66. Junior Braelyn Gardner led the Hurricanes with 22 points and senior Devin Hardwick added 20 points. They also had a dominant win over Beachwood last night by a final of 73-41. Congrats, boys!
