April is heading out, and May is coming in, which means prom, graduation, and the end of the school year.
As testing season continues, we want you to make sure that you are well-prepared for success. Here are a few testing tips to keep in mind: Make sure you are getting a good night of sleep, eat a full breakfast, and lastly, make sure you are getting to school on time!
Another friendly reminder is that classes are longer this week due to testing, and there will be no I.C.E. Block for the remainder of the week.
With the end of the year quickly approaching, be sure that you are getting to school on time with all of the materials you need to be successful. Equally important, stay up-to-date with all of your assignments and tests. Remember, senior finals begin on May 15 and underclassmen finals are the final week of May.
This Friday is the annual Jazz/Art Festival. Come and support your fellow classmates as they showcase their talents, including the Jazz Band, Show Choir, and National Junior Art Honor Society. The festival begins at 7:00 in the auditorium. Polaris and BHS parents will also be selling baked goods such as brownies, cookies and other snacks.
Seniors, you should be receiving your financial aid letters soon. For support and help understanding these letters, Mr. Douglas Boes from College Now will be conducting a presentation on Monday, April 29, at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in room 173. Please consider attending this night if you have received any financial aid information and are planning to attend college. Mr. Boes will be going over all the information and answer any questions that you have.
Looking for extra community service hours? Mr. Becker is looking for volunteers in the Athletic Office for anyone needing community service hours. Volunteers are needed for track meets on April 30 and May 2. See Mr. Becker to sign-up.
Next, our final blood drive of the year is on Friday, May 3. If you are interested in donating, please sign-up using this link. If you are 16, please make sure to get a Parent-Consent Form from room 179 (Mrs. Bader). Remember, donating counts for two hours or four-to-five hours if you do the double red donation.
Lastly, for those attending post prom on May 17, new information has been posted on your senior and junior google classrooms. Make sure that you and your parents/guardians read through all of the information and sign the attached forms. Extra waivers are available in the main office. These can be turned in NOW through Friday, May 10.
