Chosen for this week’s first senior spotlight is Joe Hurguy. Joe is easy-going, humorous, and understanding. Some of his hobbies include working out at the gym, riding his bike, and enjoying nature.
Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: “My plan after graduation is to pursue a career in the HVAC industry and eventually go to acting school to become an actor.”
Q: If you could have lunch with any influencer, who would it be?
A: “If I could have lunch with anyone, it would be J. Cole because I think he is a very humble and down-to-earth person.”
Q: What do you think is the biggest problem with teenagers today?
A: “I think the biggest problem with teenagers nowadays is that too many kids have access to things like nicotine or vapes.”
Q: What is one thing that you want to complete in high school before you graduate?
A: “One thing I want to complete before graduating high school is buying my own car.”
Q: Who is your hero?
A: “My hero is my mom because she was my only parent and still put everything before herself; she is very motivational and inspirational.”
Q: If you could add any class to the classes we have here at Brooklyn, what class would it be?
A: “I would add a cooking class in Brooklyn because kids can’t cook food.”
Q: What is your favorite motto or quote, who said it, and why is it your favorite?
A: “My favorite quote is from a video game called God of War, and it is ‘To grieve deeply is to love fully,’ by Faye.”
Q: What is the most difficult decision that you have had to make?
A: “The most difficult thing I’ve ever had to do was put down my childhood dog and stay with her in her final moments.”
Q: What scares you the most about the future?
A: “The thing that scares me the most about the future is failing.”
Q: Out of your entire school career, what teacher has been the biggest inspiration and/or influence to you?
A: “I would say Mr. Tanski because he always had a smile on his face and was always hopeful, even though he was secretly going through a lot in his personal life.”
