BHS Restaurant Recommendations: Cleveland Vegan

Cleveland Vegan is a … you guessed it, a vegan restaurant located at 17112 Detroit Avenue in Lakewood, Ohio. Founded by Laura Ross and Justin Gorski, Cleveland Vegan gives its take on organic, comfort food and, of course, delicious baked goods. 

Now, during this time of a global pandemic, things are quite difficult for local businesses and restaurants, but they have found a way to make the best of this situation. 

Since their dine-in area is closed, takeout and delivery are available, along with a meal service that provides a weekly giveaway to financially-struggling customers or frontline, healthcare workers.   

Cleveland Vegan has a wide variety on their menu, ranging from their bakery to their cafe. They also offer a catering option as well!

They serve various types of beverages including smoothies, milkshakes, coffee, tea, superfood lattes, and more. Some of their smoothie options include creamy strawberry and banana, the greens of paradise, chocolate charge up, and orange dreamsicle (12oz./$7, 16oz./$8.50). These smoothies will be perfect for our hot, Ohio weather! 

Not only does Cleveland Vegan serve a variety of drinks, they offer many food options as well. For just $14, a breakfast burrito includes southwest tofu crumble, kale, hash browns, cashew cheese sauce, and vegan sour cream.

They also include starters and small plate options on their menu as well. Some of their  small plate options include buffalo macaroni and cheese ($7), southwest tofu scramble ($6), and a simple salad ($5). 

Their bakery offers plenty of items including cookies, donuts, pastries, muffins, scones, pies, and chocolates. They also make cakes and cupcakes which offer multiple flavors including churro, almond joy, chocolate turtle, strawberry casada, along with others.

Cleveland Vegan also grows all of its ingredients locally, making sure that the food they are serving is all organic. They believe that they can do their part to reduce harm to the planet and animals, while also making tasty meals for everyone to enjoy.

When restaurants begin to open again, Cleveland Vegan should be the first place you go to enjoy a wonderful atmosphere with amazing food and a kind-hearted staff.
